Types of Normal Delivery

Spontaneous: when a pregnant female goes into labor without the use of drugs or techniques to induce labor.

Assisted or Instrumental: when a pregnant female goes into labor with the use of drugs or techniques to induce labor and requires the use of special instruments to deliver the baby.

Induced: when drugs or manual techniques are used to initiate the process of labor.

Cesarean Delivery

A Caesarian section or C-section is a surgical procedure in which one or more incisions are made through a mother's abdomen and uterus to deliver one or more babies. A Caesarean section is often performed when a vaginal delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk.

There are various reasons due to which Gynaecologist would advise you to go for a caesarean delivery. They can be:

Not enough room for the baby to go through the vagina

Twins or more babies

The mother has health problems including HIV infection, herpes infection, and heart disease

The mother has dangerously high blood pressure

The mother has problems with the shape of her pelvis

There are problems with the placenta

There are problems with the umbilical cord

There are problems with the position of the baby, such as breech

The baby shows signs of distress, such as a slowed heart rate

The mother has had a previous c-section

For normal delivery the package at Aarav Hospital is Rs. 20,000 with 2 days of stay in the hospital. The package for C-Sec Delivery is Rs. 30,000 with 3 days of stay in the hospital. If the patient opts for Single room then the room rent would be added to this package. Well baby package for both the normal and c-sec delivery is Rs. 5,000 which includes the visits of the pediatrician and the cost of vaccinations given at the time of birth. Most of the insurance companies cover child birth in their group insurance policies given to the company employees. However the amount under the delivery package is capped and is less than your total insurance cover. Check with your insurance company or HR Department to find out the amount of coverage which you are entitled for delivery. Individual insurance or Family floater policies normally do not cover maternity.
